Hi, I'm Toby Fox, from Prescott Valley, Arizona. Various fitness routines and activities have always been a part of my life: long distance running, swimming, mountain biking, hiking & backpacking, tennis, and weight training. Whatever my sports and fitness routine happened to be, weight training always played a key role in keeping me fit and injury free.
When I was racing 10K's, Half Marathons, and Marathons, weight training helped me to minimize injuries and improve my performance. When I was swimming regularly, weight training helped me to build up my chest, arms, lats, and shoulders. For tennis, I use specific exercises for my service game and ground strokes. And then there have been times when weight training for muscle gain was the focus.
The years when I focused primarily on muscle building, I experienced plateaus, a ceiling on my progress. I tried several weight training methods and techniques. My workouts became longer and harder, while my size peaked and leveled off. Then, after reading Vince Del Monte's "No Nonsense Muscle Building" system, I discovered several things that were holding me back.
Vince taught me how to balance the number of reps with the right amount and proper timing of intensity, and to do it without over training. I now get better results without working longer and harder. He also reveals a well guarded secret of many world class body builders that I have not read anywhere else. I am excited now that I have the knowledge to reach or exceed my goals in much less time.
Until I studied "No Nonsense Muscle Building," I thought I knew it all. I owe Vince a great debt of gratitude for sharing so much of his knowledge and experience and for pointing out the myths and mistakes that I had learned and practiced for so many years.
